During the war, many investors left the Ukrainian market, directing their funds abroad. However, Kyiv-based entrepreneur Maksym Krippa decided to do the opposite. Over the past two years, he has invested more than $100 million in a variety of projects, including real estate and esports, demonstrating his faith in the country’s future.

In an extensive interview with Forbes, Maksym Krippa spoke about his financial investments and strategy. His plan includes developing innovative initiatives in the capital and supporting the economy by investing in promising industries. The investor believes that such decisions can accelerate the country’s recovery.

Real estate investments

One of the investor’s largest purchases was the Parus business centre in Kyiv. This property had been looking for a new owner for a long time, and Krippa took the opportunity to purchase it on favourable terms. After the transaction, the centre’s occupancy rate exceeded 90%, which is significantly higher than the average level in the capital.

At the time of purchase, Parus had a loan of UAH 600 million. The situation was similar with the Ukraina Hotel, which became the first lot of a major privatisation after the start of the war. The investor is convinced that the acquisition of the hotel for UAH 2.512 billion is a justified investment.

All transactions have been thoroughly reviewed by the National Bank of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. The investor emphasised that all investments were made transparently and could have been allocated to assets abroad but remained in Ukraine.

In addition, in 2023, Maksym Krippa purchased an estate in Kozyn for UAH 311.11 million. This property could become a corporate base for NAVI.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: new horizons

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 project, which GSC Game World has been working on for more than a decade, attracted Krippa as a major investor in 2020, and three years later he became the owner of the studio. The game started to make a profit a month after its release. Tens of millions of dollars were spent on its creation.

About 470 specialists are involved in the development, 270 of whom work in Ukraine. The entrepreneur shared an ambitious idea to create a series based on the game in partnership with Netflix. In his opinion, the project can be an international success, like The Witcher series was in its time.
